Surface element didn't heat. Cracked.
I simply pulled out the old element. Plugged in
the replacement, which arrived very quickly, and
that was it. I couldn't believe that was all there
was to it. I really loved being able to order the
replacement part online. Intend to order more
replacement parts just to have my stovetop
looking like new again.

The stove's burner bowls were dirty and old and the chrome was gone where the cooking drippings had collected under the previous owner's usage.
We simply typed in the model of the range and several selections of replacements came up on your website. We ordered the black porcelain ones to replace the old chrome ones, thinking they might hold up better and be easier to clean. They look great and I really think they WILL be easy to wipe up. A end bracket for the oven door handle was loose. The internal socket (anchor) holding the screww that joints the bracket to the oven door snapped.screw
Remove the front panel, at which time the spring loaded door slammed closed while the paned and handle were in my hand. Fortunately I had a star bit to fit the screw holding the door and panel together. The parts should come with 2 screws since the part has holes for 2. note: the factory installed handle only had 1 screw in each side.

The burner stopped working
After checking at local appliance stores and unable to find the bunner I went online looking. I found this site and there it was. I ordered it, received it within two days, took the old one out and the new one in. As my granddaughter says, "easy peasy lemon squeeze". It took all of five seconds and I'm cooking again.

Surface element burned out
Removed old burner, plugged in new burner. Turned on electric and everything worked fine. I was concerned that I would not be able to get the correct burner since my stove is approximately 30 years old and General Electric no longer stocks replacement parts. The new surface element was manufactured by General Electric and had the correct replacement number on the package. Thanks Part Select.

Clock had FFF and oven/broiler did not turn on at all, only cooktop
Took the upper back covering off, disconnected the clock control. The only problem is the replacement didn't have the same connections so I was able to pull up the replacement number of wb27x10311 and asked for a diagram which told me exactly where to plug each of the red, white, blue and yellow wires, what a relief! To my amazement I fixed my "old" stove for less than $160, if I had called GE to service it, I'm sure I would have been looking at a $400 bill. This was the way to go, Thank You!

Shaft for burner control knob broke off
I flipped breaker off for electic and confirmed that power to the stove was off. I removed the 2 screws holding the control unit in place. Carefully removed all knobs and buttons and pryed the cover for the control unit off. I then removed old part, removed the wired and clipped wires to the new unit. Put cover back on - has some difficulty getting the panel back in place to line up the screws. But after a couple of attempts, was able to line up unit and put screws in place to secure. Replaced all knobs. Turn breaker back on and cooked lunch. Very easy job. Most difficult part was getting panel back in position. I would watch alignment more carefully before I removed in next time. Easy home repair for Women...not sure about my man?

Inconsistant oven heating. I tested the sensor and it checked good at room temperature. When I tested it in boiling water and ice water the resistance read lower than it should have. I concluded that thevsensor was the problem. I replaced the sensor but it did not solve the proble. I therefore,
The repair was quite simple. I pulled the range away from the wall. Removved 6 screws from the back panel with a nut driver. I the disconnected the wires from the clock control and then removed the 4 screws securing the control board. I loosened the faceplate from the old control with a hair dryer and removed it with a knife. I afixed the faceplate to the new control with two sided tape. Connected the wires to the new control and secured it with the 4 screws. The only problem one might have is the instructions referenced black and purple wires whereas mine were red and blue respectively. Reattached the back panel with the six screws and plugged the power plug back in. Moved the range back against the wall and tested the oven which tested perfectly. Note please disconnect power before proceeding with the installation of the new part.

The original oven handle end caps were cracked
I disassembled parts and panels from the oven door as needed to remove the handle end caps. It was not clear to me what the best disassembly method was, because I used a different method when assessing the problem as when I performed the actual part replacement. The quickest way is to take the top two screws on the inside oven panel loose, but leave them in their retainers. Remove the side trim screws on the plastic upper side pieces. Remove the four sheet metal screws on the bottom of the door, located the far right and left (two on each side). Carefully split the inner and outer oven panels to access the mounting screws for the oven handle. Replace the oven handle and reverse the disassembly process.

Part shipped had different hook-up configuation. Instructions were not very clear on rerouting of connections and use of adapter for old knob installation on new switch.
Bowls were easy... all that was need was remoal of heating elements and replacement of part. Switch required access to rear of stove; removal of back cover and knob; unscrew switch; transfer wires to new switch and install with two new screws; cut switch shaft and fit adpater (trouble here and instructions were no help)for old knob. SHIPPING WAS TERRIFIC RECEIVED ORDER NEXT DAY WITH ORDINARY DELIVERY.

Oven Bake element did not work
After needlessly replacing the Thermo-sensor and Bake element I was able to determine that, while I had proper voltage to the appliance I did not have power to bake element when bake knob was turned on. The broil element worked properly. I hesitated purchasing the Electronic Clock Control because there was nothing wrong with the oven clock and it was an expensive part. I switched out the control unit and was delighted to see the bake element heat up immediately. It was simple to replace and the instructions that came with it were adequate - just some differences in the color of wires. Thank you Part Select.com!
