Did not have water flowing into dishwasher
I removed the old valve with wrench and Philips screw driver.Unscrewed the mounting plate and water hose. When I went to replace the new water inlet valve, I found that there was a mismatch on the screw holes for the new mounting plate. Different screw threads. I tried to find screws that would fit, but didn't have any.So I manged to make the old screws re-thread themselves and hold the plate in place. I then attached the water hose and started the dishwasher up. Make sure to power off the unit then power it back on to clear and reset the programming. Works great now.

Wouldn't clean upper rack, not enough water
Checked the water supply to the inlet valve - OK, pulled the filler hose from the outlet side of the valve and checked flow in wash cycle. Results, less than 1/2 gallon. Checked your website, found 94% sucess rate by replacing the valve, so I ordered one. It took about 10 minutes to install with a nut driver, 6" adjustable to connect water supply, and plier to hold outlet clamp open to install it; now we look forward to dirty dishes rather than dumping water into the machine it takes care of itself and we once again get sparkly cups andglasses of the top rack. OU- Rah!!

Small leak at the bottom of dishwasher
Removed existing gasket seal on door. Cleaned really well with a household cleaner around the gasket crease. Installed new gasket seal around door. Started with small notch in the middle of the gasket to center on top and then slowly fastened into door edge and slowly snug around bottom edge where the deal is notched and the the difficult part was to feel the seam again on the bottom to re attach seal after notch from corner. Rupert this on the other side of door.

dishwasher would not fill with water and cycle
first off if you can understand the problem DO NOT CALL THE GE REPAIR SERVICE AND HAVE A REPAIRMAN COME TO YOUR HOME you will save over $300.00. a mistake i made, it cost me $79.95 just for him to tell me the dishwasher was broken and then i was told it would cost me over $300.00 to fix it. WHEN I TALKED TO PARTSELECT I FOUND THE WATERVALVE FOR A LITTLE OVER $55.00 WITH SHIPPING IT TOOK ABOUT 20 MINUTES TO DISCONNECT THE DISHWASHER AND REMOVE THE OLD PART AND ABOUT THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME TO REPLACE THE NEW ONE THEY EVEN HAD GOOD INSTRUCTIONS IF YOU NEEDED THEM. I FOUND PARTSELECT SERVICE TO BE A VERY GOOD BUSINESS TO WORK WITH. ROY F BURTNETT

existing gasket dry rotted
This repoair was needed due to diswasher leaking out of side door. I just moved in about 6 months ago and needed to use dishwasher. When it leaked i noticed it was in need of a gasket. I searched the internet and came accross "part select". Part showed up in less than 3 days and was a breeze to install. The original gasket came out just by pulling, cleaned up channel and installed new gasket.slid in real easy. I did take off inner door panel to inspect for any damage. none noted. Perfect fit first time. Dont get confused folks if the part has another name as some parts are interchangeable in the industry.

Water leaking from beneath dishwater
It took no time at all to identify where the water was leaking from. I accessed a parts breakdown illustration of my dishwasher, identified the part, ordered it and three days later my leak was fixed. Hose and water inlet valve assembly was easy to swap out. I estimate I saved myself about $150.00 by doing it myself.

Water Inlet Filter
Before you due anything else...remove the water inlet valve, remove the 4 screws holding the water inlet coupling to the valve housing, remove the nylon filter (tight fit), and clean the debris from the filter. Re insert the filter, reassemble the valve housing and check for leaks. Clears most water flow problems.

The dishwasher would not fill with water
I firts turned off power to the diswasher through the circuit breaker panel. I removed the black tray at the bottom front of the dishwasher, removed the two screws attaching the water inlet valve, detached inlet and outlet water hoses as well as the eletric connector. I removed fitting from the old valve and installed in the new valve using some teflon tape. Installation is the reverse of the removal.

Valve failed and washer overflowed.
Immediately shut off water supply to the washer. After ordering and receipt ot part: Removed base panel, turned off power, disconnected wire, water supply line and screws attaching washer to kitchen counter. Pulled the washer out and turned it on its side with the valve on top. Removed and replaced the valve, returned the washer to the upright position, pushed it back under the counter, reconnected all services, screws to counter and base panel, turned on the water and power. Took two hours since I needed take a trip to the hardware store to replace a right angle water fitting .
