Bottom element in water heater was burned out.
Bottom element in water heater was burned out. I confirmed this with a continuity test. But, I purchased both elements so I changed them both out at the same time. Figured it would save time in the long run. I turned off the electricity, drained the water heater, and removed the elements. Replaced them by getting the elements started with the pliers and after catching a couple of threads, I used the Element Tool and got the elements tight. Reconnected the wires on each (order of wiring did not matter), turned the water back on to check for leaks, and when no leaks occurred I simply put all insulation back in place, replaced the covers and turned the power back on. I had HOT water in an hour or less.
