Hi Mike, thank you for contacting us. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest replacing the door cable, part number PS7320283, to solve the problem. It connects the door spring to the door hinge and allows the door to drop down slowly when it is opened. Glad to be of help!

Hello, when I close the door to the dishwasher the control panel lights do not come on, and the buttons do not work. It latches firmly and stays closed. Could it just be that the door latch itself is bad?
For model number GDF630PSM0SS
PartSelect logo
Hello Spike, thank you for reaching out. Yes, it could very well be a bad door latch assembly, even if the door seems to be closing and latching firmly. The latch contains an electrical micro-switch that must be fully engaged to send a signal to the control board, indicating that the door is securely closed and that it is safe to begin a cycle. We would suggest replacing it, the part number is PS6447681. We hope this information helps!

is there a more thorought reset procedure other than turning power off and on? This machine operates normally except will not drain. Pump does not come on. Just wondering if a reset might help but the simple reset does not. Wanted to try more detailed reset before pulling machine and pump.
For model number GDF630PSM0SS

Hello Terry, thank you for your inquiry. As you have already reset the unit and the issue still persists, we would recommend checking the drain hose for any clogging. If this is not the issue, we would suggest replacing the drain pump, part number PS12582714, to solve the problem. Glad to be of help!

Gasket at the bottom of the door disintegrated.
Took off the kickplate, diconnected the wires and removed the whole door by lifting straight up, removing spring wires from hinges. Once door is disconnected from the machine, removed one hinge by removing bolt. Slid gasket into place, secured hinge back in place, then reconnected wires at bottom, replaced hinge spring wires and slid door back down onto hinges. Now that we know how to do it, could do it in 15 min to half hour.

Door latch not functioning
1. Turn off breaker supplying power to dishwasher in electrical panel
2. Open dishwasher door
3. Unscrew the screws that secure the dishwasher to the counter.
4. Tip dishwasher forward. Identify the non-functioning door latch. It looks exactly like the replacement. Unclip the wire harness from the door latch.
5. On the inside of the dishwasher, there are 2 screws directly under the door latch. Unscrew them and carefully set aside.
6. Remove old door latch.
7. Set new door latch in place. Holding securely, replace screws removed in step 5. Toward the end they get a little tougher to screw in.
8. Plug wire harness into new door latch.
9. Re-align dishwasher and re-secure to counter in previous position.
10. Test latch to make sure it closes properly.
11. Turn on breaker in electrical panel.
The dishwasher should now function properly.
