FRS26FCDW4 Frigidaire Refrigerator - Instructions

I shut off the water supply and removed the 4 screws from the cardboard back revealing the water valve. I removed the 2 screws which attach the valve to the refrigerator and removed the water valve. Once out it was a snap to unplug the electrical leads and unscrewed the water lines, Insalling the new part was a matter of reversing the above procedure. Everything is color coded which made this replacement extrememly simple.

most importantly on the page with the necessary part..cripser support for the refrigerator--- there was a brief insructional video on how to properly dislodge the broken part and replace it with the new showing the simple tools needed. I am not handy at all but it took me all of two minutes thanks to the helpful video.

You have to blindly unscrew the two screws along the side of the ice maker. Once that is done simply remove the ice maker to the side to gain access to the electrical plug. Undo the plug and remove the ice maker completely. Install the adapter on the new ice maker and install it in much the same way you removed the old. I started the (2) 1/4" screws before installing the new ice maker to make it easier to hang. Pay careful attention to the wire harness and dress it out of the way. Finally tighten the two screws and make sure the bail wire is down to begin ice making once again.

Snap out fan cover, remove four 1/4" screws, remove back cover, remove defective fan motor, remove fan blade, install new motor and blade, strip wires and hook up with wire nuts, reinstall back cover, snap in fan cover, and plug in fridge.

Just opened the filter storage and popped out the old one and put in the new one. Ran the system for three minutes according to directions and it worked fine.

first i by passed the timing board, with a ele cord to the fan motor to keep the fridge cool till your parts got here, which was realy fast delivered,
the fan would come on because the board was fried.
it took abot 30 min to install every thind just be carefully unpluging anything.things will break i guess metal eing cold makes the conne4ctors stick together.
evaporator fan is in the frezzer four screws,tested the wires for ohms,and power, when i pluged in the fan i would loss power to the fan,that told me the board was bad, the same night my furnance when to (reaaly) and i lost my borad on the computer ethernet card (lighting isn't fun) it cost to fix everything about 130.00 thanks for thr great parts

Replaced ice actuator.

Once I recieved the new filter, I enthusiastically opened the box, removed the filter from it's packaging and set it aside for quick access. I opened the refrigerator door, pushed the release button on the old filter and pulled it out. I then tossed the old filter in the trash.
Once that was done, I removed the 2 rubber caps covering the inlet and outlets on the new filter. Then, with ace precision, I guided the new filter back into the slot until it clicked. I ran the water for 3 minutes as the instructions suggested, then, had a glass of water.
Mission accomplished and it went off without a single hitch!

I took a utility knife and picked the corner and pulled off old label. Used Rubbing Alchol to removed the left on glue and remeved any finger oils.Peeled off backing and centered label and rubbed on with a dry clean towel. It was a snap to install. I would recomend PartSelect to any one who needs parts to do any type of repair to their apliance.

Bought a new
capacitor.

1.Got on line to Partselect ordered the parts we needed .they arrived Quickly and in good condition 2.Except the tray was sent in error delaying the repair. 3.contacted Partselect costumer services for assistance 4.Followed their direction and reorder the correct one hoping the correct one would arrive .it did the next day .5.On to repair, removed broken stud with panel stud puller with the aide of a putty knife to spread the pressure of tool stud came out 6.reinserted new stud 7.replaced the new upper crisper drawer cover glass not included . 8.Upper Crisper pan to complete the repair. 9.all in all successful with the help of Partselect superior parts and helpful guides.

I purchased the replacement part (no instructions sheet) from another company, not this one, that cost 2X's a much as this company. So I sent it back and ordered from this company. Got it faster then the post office sends us the stamps we order by internet and this ice maker had instructions.
Our's is a side by side refrig, so working space is limited but do-able. The old ice maker has made a clicking noise for years while trying to push the cubes out of the tray. They would get stuck and refreeze, sticking half way out of the tray.
I loosened the 2 screws with a socket driver (which are difficult to see), raised the unit up and off the screws. Unplugged the power & out it came. Removed the bracket on the side as instructed to attach to the new ice maker and in the trash the ol' ice maker went. Set the new ice maker on the screws, plugged in the power, tightened the screws and walla. A quiet ice maker. In fact, it would startle us the first day as we didn't hear the clicking noise indicating it was stuck. All of a sudden the cubes just dropped into the container. Alright! Don't know why I didn't do this years ago.

Replacement of bins were simple the crisper cover supports were a little more time consuming since the manufactured piece were glued in. I used a tool that has a 30% tip and hooked the support and pulled in out part of the way and pulled the rest out with my fingers. All in all a simple job...I took the opportunity to do an addition cleaning of the inside of fridge with my extra time. Would also like to say that my parts were delivered within 24 hours of ordering them and the website made purchasing easy and no second guessing, since the model had an exploded version of all the parts available. Shut off water/power - pulled tray -loosened two screws holding ice maker - lifted it up and off - unhooked power connection installed new maker in reverse of above - power supply line was much to long but just pushed it under the ice tray ( away from the maker ) prior to ordering looked at comments from others regarding installation

Removed the cover inside the freezer. Found out that the motor/fan was not working. Ordered through PartSelect. Got the parts in 3 days. Installed it for less than 30 minutes. Very easy. It saved me hundreds of dollars. We considered buying a new fridge but not anymore. , it only cost me $70 including shipment charges. (Make sure you unplug the appliance first before opening the cover. Remember safety first.)
