FKC17F7QTA Frigidaire Refrigerator - Instructions

My sons climb in the fridge to get stuff on higher shelves. In their climbing they broke the support for the crisper cover. I guess they were not made to support the weight of small children. Any way I ordered the part and when it arrived I unscrewed the old screws and screwed on the new support and put the crisper cover back on. I then told my wife how hard I worked to fix her fridge but of course I got no thanks.

Replacement was a snap! Literally! OK there were two snaps. One on each side.

Opened the box, snapped it in place. Took longer to just open the box! I carefully inspected the part and compared to the original. I could not tell them apart. The fit and finish is perfect. This is a very well made product. Easy to order, fast shipping, well packaged and very easy to install.

Old shelf was removed and the new shelf clicked right into place, an exact match, perfect fit.

Since the glass was broken and gone I just had to slide the new glass on top of the crispers. This was not really a repair, just an exchange of new for the old.

Set new shelf in place and push down. Very easy!

after checking defrost sensor and heater which checked out to be good replaced control board took about 10 minutes freezer working fine

Removed the inside evaporator coil to do inside solder job, use torch to heat solder joints on the outside drier in order to remove it and install new drier. Soldered Heat exchanger line to drier and 1/4” copper line to compressor. Wrapped with new insulation wrap. Pulled a vacuum on system and then charged with 4.4 ounces of 134a freon. Works like a champ again!

The left swing hinge (297283901) that i needed is not available anywhere so I bought the right swing hinge (297283900), used a hydraulic press to pop out the pin and move it to the other hole. After that it was real quick to remove the screws and change out the hinge, changing the swing of the door. It is easiest to remove the top hinge and door first when doing this.

Just like the video , just pull out the crisper drawers and slide the new one in. I also made sue that I had a quilt on the floor in case I dropped the glass shelf. Also if you are not sure of the model number you can try calling the store where you bought the appliance at which I had to do. I bought it at Conns and they just needed the phone number I used when I bought it.

Unsnapped it from the door, and snapped on the new shelf bin. I also noticed the smaller bins were cracked so I ordered them as well. The smaller bins were very easy to snap in and also adjustable for heights.We are extremely pleased! Parts came within a week also.

Just slide glass in. Very easy.

I simply removed the old broken shelf and clipped in the new one. Not a major project however the company went above and beyond due to a problem with the delivery of the part. I live in an 1,800 unit condo. Packages are delivered to a kiosk for pick up. FedEx showed the package was delivered but I did not receive it. When I called PartSelect to advise of the problem, they immediately refunded me for the part I didn't receive and sent another one which I received in a few days. I found the company to be very reliable and customer friendly. I will use them again should the occasion arise.
