Not getting water, or enough water in the diswasher.
First I turned off the fuse and h2o, then replaced the intake valve. This was tricky b/c there is very little room underneath to maneuver the wrench. I had my son watch to see if h2o came out of the intake hose while I turned the h2o on and off from the main valve. Knowing I had h2o, I replaced the intake valve and turned on the machine. Still not working properly. Next, I ordered a new float and fill switch (the little computer chip looking thing). Replacing those was a snap. Remove a couple screws, replace the switch, screw back in place. The float was even easier, using pliers, I removed the nut from the float stem underneath, then simply pulled out the old float and dropped in the new. While keeping the door slightly ajar and holding the float down in place, I pushed the securing nut back into place. Again, I started the dishwasher, and again it did not fill. Frustrated, I removed the intake valve again. I used a wooden skewer to pull out some sediment that had been in the intake line (my son did not pick up on the irregular h2o flow during the initial test). Put the valve back in place again and viola, it works perfectly!

Dishwasher would not start
I didn't have a clue how to fix this dishwasher so I did a search for Maytag parts and found your site. It looked like the door switch was the likely problem. I watched the video that Steve did showing how easy it is to fix and ordered the parts. I got the parts in the mail a couple days later. I did the repair in about 15 minutes. Just pulling the connectors off the old switch took some strength, just like Steve said. Put the switch in and back together and bingo the dishwasher works like new. Thanks Steve and PartSelect!
