CTS18FBSFLWW General Electric Refrigerator - Instructions

The old switch was hard to remove. Thinking that I may have to loosen the wires I used a socket wrench to remove a clamp. This was unnecessary. In the end the switch did come out using a large size screwdriver. The problem was that the expanding plastic tongue is not visible from the ouside so you have to try to feel your way around. If i had ordered the replacement before and not afterwards I would have seen this before hand.

Emptied the lower area of food, removed the drawers and the removed the broken shelf frame. My glass was unbroken so after removing it from the broken frame and cleaning it, I just had to place it in the new frame and put it in the frig. Can't believe how easy and quick the whole process was. I can now utilized all that wasted space in my frig again.

Simply unwrapped and slipped them in place.

Remove power from the unit. With short length #2 Phillips loosen and remove the two(2) screws on the control panel located center top of the refrigeration area. Slide the control panel back about 1/2 inch and allow it to dangle from its wiring harness. Pinch the locking tab on the harness connector with one hand and use the other hand to separate the two sides. A little force is required. Remove the control panel from the refrigerator and shut the refrigerator door. Examine and note the routing of the temperature probe (Silver colored flexible wire) take a picture for later reference. Remove the old and replace with new unit. route temperature probe like the replaced unit. Reverse the steps and reinstall the control panel. It is a good idea to also purchase and replace the defrost timer.

I ordered two switches, replaced both with a knife in 10 minutes. Interior light works, thanks.

Just snapped in.

The original design is poor. The evaporator fan is mounted in an upright position just below the ice-maker. A plastic grate mounts over the fan assembly to allow for air circulation. Unfortunately, random chips of ice from the ice maker can fall into the fan, causing the fan to shear its blades. Replacement of the fan blade is relatively simple (accept for having to completely unload the freezer and remove all back covers, the ice-maker auger motor assembly, and the metal evaporator cover). In order to mimimze this from reoccuring, I installed a 1/4'' mesh metal screen over the exhaust ports on the cover. Thus far, this has worked well to keep ice chips out of the evaporator fan.

I opened the fridge door removed the tape the customer had on it to keep in place. Gasket was super worn out I pulled in it to remove it. Cleaned it where the new gasket was gonna insert. Put the new gasket in place and with my thumb applied some pressure till I heard a small snap. Did the same all the way around and closed and opened the door to check it all around making sure it was in place and sealing all around.

First, remove the cardboard cover on the back, lower portion of the refrigerator.

Next, locate the condensor fan motor assembly and blade. (Right side as you are facing)

Using a pliers, hold the shaft to keep it from turning and prevent damage to the motor. Using a screwdriver, slide the old ring compression on the blade shaft toward the motor (away from the fan blades) to loosen.

Remove old blade from the shaft by firmly grasping the motor shaft with a pliers (to prevent from damaging) and pull the blade assembly off.

Reverse the above steps to attach the new blade.

Click shelf into place!

Replaced temp controller

I order the small part and installed it myself, it was very easy with "part select". I will refer them and use them in the future. Thanks parts select.

To remove the temp sensor.2 Phillip head screws not remove the cover inside fridge .the temp control knob cover.removed that and unplugged switch.installed new switch.reinstalled cover.
