CE9002 (P7804829W) Amana Dryer - Instructions

Removed the front panel of the dryer and drum to replace the rollers. You will need a snap ring pliers to remove the locking snap ring holding the rollers, replaced rollers, installed new drum belt and replaced the front dyer panel.
Tested the dryer no more noise.

popped out the old, broken female latch, popped in the new one in less than 30 seconds. We had been leaning stool against the dryer door for 5 years. Now it works exactly like it is supposed to.

I ordered the part. ( I should have ordered just in case it happens again.) When it got here it took less than a minute to snap it in.

The old door catch broke and fell into the unit. Ordered the new part which arrived fast and snapped it into place. Perfect fit and the door now closes/latches correctly - like new again. The dryer door on my mom's Maytag SG1000 (washer/dryer stacked unit) wouldn't stay closed; the latch had finally broken. The replacement kit includes both the female latch and the male striker. I replaced both even though the old striker was still good. The old parts were easily pried out and removed with a small flat-blade screwdriver. But what the PartSelect website, and the other "repair stories" found here, fail to mention is that the male striker is held in place with a small metal "door strike retainer" plate that falls down into the door as soon as you pry off the striker. You will need a small Phillips screwdriver to take the door apart and retrieve the plate. After snapping the new striker into the plate the door can be reassembled -- a simple job that only takes a couple of minutes.

Popped in the new part. Really! That easy!

replaced with new part with thumbs as pushers.

Loosened the screws, took out the old one. It shorted out to back. Inserted the new one attached wires, Installed screws and it worked

Repair part just snapped into place. It took longer to open the bag then do the repair. I thought it was going to be difficult to find a part for this dryer but partselect had the right part.

Removed old latch. Installed new latch. No problem.

Only needed half the parts. Installed the catch for the door and saved the other part.

I used a screwdriver to pry out the broken door latch and inserted the new one in the same slot. Perfect fit. The picture of the part in the order page was a big help to identify the correct part.

After 20+ years of service, the plastic part that holds the dryer door closed, broke. I orderd the replacement part on a Monday and received it on Wednesday!
By applying constant pressure with my thumb, the replacement part 'snapped' into place - all of 4 seconds.
