AW25K3AS Admiral Washer - Instructions

There was a crack in the black rubber hose attached to the water inlet flume assembly, and the assembly itself was cracked and falling apart. 1) Turned off water. 2) Lifted top cover up (pry up with flat screwdriver). 3) Disconnected hose. 4) Trimmed hose above the crack. 5) Replaced "spring" -type hose clamp with small automotive-style clamp. 6) Unbolted flume from under lid (2 sheetmetal screws). 7) Reattached hose to new flume. 8) Reattached flume to underside of lid. 9) Closed lid (light pressure downward required). 10) Turned on water. Total repair time: 10 minutes.

Determined it was the pump through listening to where the noise came from by taking the back panel off for easy access. The pump is at the back of the unit and was easily accessable. The Motor is on a pivot bracket with springs, so it was easily moved to loosen the belt for removal. After removing the 2 drain hoses with the pliers, the pump came out with 3 screws. Replace the new pump with the reverse procedure. It worked perfectly.

Slip wire clamps over tube ends. push hose ends over connections, move clamps over hose end, making sure clamps are centered on connections. Easy as could be.

pURSUANT TO THE VIDEO PROVIDED BY PARTSELECT, I DISCONNECTED POWER CORD, HOT AND COLD WATER HOSES. ALSO, REMOVED DRAIN HOSE FROM DRAIN PIPE CONNECTION. LAY THE WASHER ON ITS SIDE REMOVED THE PULLEY BELT THEN FOLLOWED THE VIDEO TO REMOVE DUST COVER, C-CLIP, CAM, PULLEY, THRUST BEARING ALONG WITH ASSOCIATED WASHERS FROM THE TRANSMISSION SHAFT.INSTALLATION WAS THE REVERSE AS SHOWN IN THE INSTRUCKIONS PROVIDED IN THE KIT.

Opened back panel. With pliers, moved the retainer clamps. Used a flat screwdriver to pry off hose from tank. procceded to remove hose from pump. Put new hose on and replaced hose clamps. Tested with a small wash cycle, no leaks. Job done.

Used Putty Knife to release a tab on left split of cover/lid assembly lifting up slightly to release the tab, then I repeated the same on the right side. With the belt already flung off of the unit, I saw the 2 screws inside left/right top corners holding the front cover On. I tilted it forward and up and released from two clips on the bottom of the unit. With the front cover removed I saw the pump on the lower right side of the tank. 3 screws and 2 hoses hold the pump in place. Once pump was removed reversed how it was taken apart.

Tipped washer backwards and removed belt from all three pulleys. Stood washer upright again and removed back panel around pump(4-screws)Removed drain hose from house drain and emptied excess water in the pump into a bucket. Removed the hoses from the drain pump then removed the three bolts holding the pump in place. Removed damaged pump and replaced with new drain pump. Reassembled in reverse order. Once the pump cover was replaced, tipped machine on its back, replaced the belt onto the three pulleys and promptly returned machine to its upright position and ran a test load of laundry! Success! Works great!

Removing and replacing the pump was a very easy process. Once the belt was removed on the bottom of the machine, I removed the back plate to gain access to the pump. Three screws and a couple of clamps holding the hoses on the pump. There was a little more water in the pump during removal than anticipated. Other than that, it was an easy fix.

This is a quick and easy repair. Start by using the putty kiife to depress and unlock the washer top. Remove the front panel of the washer by removing the two screws on eithe side at the top. The front panel then lifts off. Next you will want to tilt the unit up and remove the fan belt. Put the washer back down flush and remove the hoses to the drain pump located at the front an right side of the bottom plate. Once the hoses are removed you can remove the three retnetion screws, take the pump out, put the new pump in and fianlly replace the rentention screws and hoses. Put everything back together in reverse order and don't forget the fan belt. Takes all of 15 minutes of your time and you save 150 dollars labor.

After inspecting the brake and installing the new pulley/bearing kit the washer still would only spin slowly. Discovered that if the washer agitates at all in the spin cycle then the transmission is shot. So washer was replaced with a new one.

put a total new transmission total kit on.

Just followed the video! 1. Removed the belt. 2. Removed the back (the video said the water pump was in the front, but mine was in the back), 3. Removed the hoses (using bucket and towels to collect the water, 4. Removed the three screws that hold the pump in place, 5. Put in the new pump, 6. Connected the hoses, 7. Reinstalled the belt, and 8. Fretted as the first load of clothes were washed...

I had some expert advise on what the problem was so that made it easier to consentrate on the fix. I was surprised to find so much information on this web page. Getting the right part ordered was also very easy. The repair instructions given by other people was all correct, tiling the machine to get the belt off, removing the back access panel, was all correct and made it easy. The hard part was getting the machine out of the small wash room and into the garage where I had room to work on it. A good dolly and a wooden ramp came in handy . A word of advice woud be to operate the hot & cold water faucets on & off every year or so to be sure they work easily when the time comes, maybe an emergency. After 12 years I was worried my valves would give me a problem. (.they didnt).
