91149489890 Kenmore Microwave Oven Combo - Instructions

I pulled the old broiler from holding clamps. I unscrewed the 2 screws holding the old broiler, pulled it out very slowly while using clips to hold the wires from going back into the wall behind the oven. That’s very important, I then pulled the old broiler off and replaced the new one. First I secured the elements on the oven clips that hold the element up, I reattach the new element, screwed the 2 screws back in. DONE My grandson helped, total time, maybe 15 minutes. Watch their video. Really easy, save money.

Be sure to flip the breaker to the oven to the OFF position before doing anything. Take out the two screws at the back of the oven that hold the element. Carefully pull the element forewarn to expose the connections to the wires. Disconnect the element from the wiring connectors. Be careful not to damage the connectors or the wiring. Plug the new element into the wiring connectors. Make sure you have the connections firmly in place. Push the wiring and connectors back into place. Replace the two screws. Make sure the element is resting in the spacers that keep it the correct distance from the top of the oven. Flip the breaker to the ON position, Turn the oven on Broil. The element should start turning a bright red. some fumes will come off the element. That is just oil from processing and handling. Your done!

Remove the ice bin.
Turn the ice maker selection to "OFF"
Use small flat blade screwdriver to open the plastic ears on the electic plug in connectiion
Use #2 Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw on the front left side of the ice maker
Pull the ice maker forward until free of the two studs in the left side rear of the freezer wall
Check to see if the supplied water chute is the correct size for your application, if not remove the water chute from the old ice maker and place it on the new one.
Place the new ice maker in the freezer connecting the slots on the left read with the studs on the left wall
NOTE; IF THE ICE MAKER DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE LEVEL HORIZONTALLY REMOVE IT AND CAREFULLY REINSTALL IT TO ACHIEVE LEVEL
NOTE: ENSURE THE WATER DELIVERY TUBE RESTS IN THE RECEIVER TRAY
Reconnect the electrical plug ( needle nose pliers may be helpful in aligning the male plug with the female plug)
Move the selector from "OFF" to "ON"
Replace the ice bin and close the freezer door

Watched the video on the PartSelect site. Could not have been an easier repair and I saved the cost of a service call - probably saved at least $100 - $150 in service call and I can only guess what the labor cost would have been. Will use this business again for other appliance repairs on my older stove, washer, etc. By the way - the official Kenmore site said this part was no longer made and unavailable --- Thank you PartSelect for having the part and saving me the cost of buying a new stove!

With multimeter checked resistance of oven sensor. Specs called for 1100 ohms. It was off by 27 ohms. The sensor from Part Select had exact wire connection as original. Then just matter of undoing old and reconnecting with new one.

One unsatisfactory event. I asked Part Select why my clock did not work or light up(timer works ok) . Answer was: sorry we have no time to help you. That soured the otherwise happy experience.

switched off power to oven, unscrewed old broiling unit and installed new one.

First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out disconnected the two wires. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THERE IS HARDLY ANY WIRE TO WORK WITH. Otherwise I would have been finished in ten minutes.

I first read where someone had the same problem. Their solution was a burned-out fuse. I ordered a new fuse...installed it and that did not solve my problem. I revisted PartSelect and read how Marla (from Arlington, TX)solved her problem. I purchased a secondary switch and when it arrived, I made a copy of Marla's instructions and followed them to the letter. I installed the new secondary switch into the secondary space, put everything back together and the oven STILL DID NOT WORK. I had to take the latching panel apart again and test each switch to see if there was another bad one. I found that the third switch was burned out. So I took the new switch out of the second slot and installed it into the third slot. I tested the switches before reinstalling the latching panel. This time everything worked. So I put everything back together, reinstalled the microwave on the wall, tested it again, and everything worked perfectly.

-unplug
-remove top and front covers
-unplug wire connectors from heating assembly
-remove heating assembly from metal stand and push out of the way
-remove metal stand from dry
-pull out heating assembly
-install new one in reserve order

As with all of my orders from Part Select the part was as correct and arrived in a timely manner. The installation was easy. Remove two screws, unplug the old element from the wires, install wires on new element and reinstall the element. Restored power and everything worked fine.

First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Replaced the defective element with the new - all inless than fifteen minutes!

popped the new one on!

This part is a plug-in unit - two screws off; unplug the old unit; plug in the new unit; two screws on. Very simple.

- removed the old element
- looked for part number, was none
- could not find direct replacement listed
- compared to dimensions on drawing
- ordered part
- discovered that the mounting plate on new element was too small, holes did not line up, did not cover opening in back of oven.
- sawed off mounting plate on new element
- removed mounting plate from old element
-drilled out holes on old mounting plate to accept new element
- attached the modified element
- Everything works fine.
