3638587781 Kenmore Refrigerator - Instructions

Removed front cover, removed rear cover careful to note position of spring assisted parts, used pliers to unscrew auger rod end cap, removed and soaked in Lime Away fixed and movable blades. Reassembled using diagram on website for guidance.

Before disassembling the parts need to replace, I use my digital camera to get all the different angle of the item so I have the full reference to asswmble the new one

I removed the crisper drawer, glass shelf and the meat drawer. I then removed the two screws that hold the drawer rail to the refrigerator. Installed the new drawer rail and glass shelf. However the back deflector that directs cold air into the upper drawer does not fit properly on the new drawer rail. I just had to rest the deflector on top of the rail.

Replaced the Drawer Slide, Part was not an exact fit. New part was taller than the original. The Glass shelf that sets on top of the slide now sets at an angle.

Transferred ice supply to another freezer. Removed ice maker unit from freezer and studied assembly. Removed the 5 screws holding the bucket in place while keeping track of which screw went where. The only positional component to remember was the motor control pivot retainer. Wiggled and fiddled to remove the old bucket. Wiggled and fiddled to put the new bucket in place. Replaced the 5 screws, dumped the reserved ice back into the bucket, and returned the ice maker unit to the freezer.

Pay close attention to how you disassemble everything. You might even want to take a picture. I taped all the screws right where I unscrewed them, to make sure they were replaced in the right section. Also use the picture diagram that on the computer.

Very easy to repair-Went online-Found diagrahm-Ordered part-and presto it was fixed.
Very good schematic to go by. If you can read you most likely can fix it.

The disassembly and reassembly was straightforward but the parts diagram was very helpful to help you get it back together. Make sure you get the convexity of the clip that retains the clear plastic barrel to the auger pointing in the right direction. The metal plate that that comes out with the assembly seems to rust as fast as the auger, so you should just order that when you order the auger. I did not replace the plate so I cleaned it and painted it with epoxy paint before I reassembled.

remove ice bucket and replace broken augar

I simply ordered a new Ice bucket, removed about 6 Phillips head screws, removed the old bucket from the Ice door and replaced with a new bucket. SIMPLE !!!!!

The parts recommended were exactly what I needed. The comment section on not paying attention during the removal were very helpful. I took a picture before totally taking everything apart. Thanks for the added comment.

I opened the package and screwed the rails in. The first repair rail kit included extra screws, the last did not so don't toss the existing screws.

Removed broken light cover (that was held together with tape) and replaced with new part. The most amazing thing was that I was able to locate the part for a 21 year old refrigerator

The replacement part came with a one page instruction sheet. Following those instructions I cut the two hoses on the old resivour and removed it. I then cut the hoses on the new resivour to desired length (all inside the refrigerator). Using the two couplers provided with the new resivour I hocked the two hoses together and tightened them with a wrench. It took longer to clean the refrigerator than it did to replace the part.
