Next, I removed the knobs from the front of the display panel.
Then I removed the 4 phillip head screws that were located (1 each) behind the knobs.
Finally, I removed the 4 hex head screws from the bottom of the front panel.
You caan then remove the panel a few inches and remove the two cable connectors.
The trick part is to get the flat ribbin cable disconnected. If you squeeze the two small tabs (one on each end of the connector), the connector moves up and spreads open to CAREFULLY remove the ribbon cable.
The clock assembly has just two hex head screws holding it in place. Remove them, and reassemble everything in reverse.
If you did everything correctly, you should have a very bright stove clock again! Read more...

Jenn-Air Wall Oven Electronic Clock Assembly
After examining the old board I discovered that the 470 microfarad aluminum electrolytic capacitor (in the corner) was badly deformed. I replaced this. Now I have a spare board. I believe that the failure (common in Jenn-Air ovens) starts with a transient on the power line (it did with mine). This damages the capacitor which progressively gets worse. This capacitor probably acts as a low pass filter on the power supply for the display. If any of you are into electronics, I would suggest wiring a zener diode across the capacitor to suppress transients. I wish the Jenn-Air engineers had put this in the design. It would have avoided a lot of costly repairs and saved them the bad reputation that they have as a result of this board failing over and over again. Read more...

Oven door would not close properly. Believe this caused control panel to fail from overheating.
Parts arrived as scheduled with no problems. First I removed and repaced the 2 oven door hinges to see if this would fix the problem with the door not closing all the way (had to push door to get the oven light to go out). Since no instructions were shipped with the new hinges, I followed the information given by other customers on how they were able to change the hinges. Changing the hinges DID NOT fix the problem with the door! The new hinges did not pull the door any tighter than the old hinges. Door closure problem finally fixed by supergluing several round mangnets (Lowes) to the door which pulls the door tight when closed. I learned this trick from another customer's report (thanks for the idea!). Next I removed and replaced the failed control panel. This was the second panel to fail on this oven in the 5 years it has been installed! The first panel was replaced under warranty after approx 2 years of use. Hopefully, the magnets will keep the oven door closed and prevent overheating of the control panel which will allow this poorly designed oven to last a little longer this time!

Only the clock, broiler and cancel button on the control panel were working
My 11 year old son removed the screws that held the panel in place. I switched out the control board by removing the screws that held it in place, then I connected the new printed connectors on to the control board and replaced the screws that held the control panel in place and that was it. It took about five minutes and the best part was I didn't have to pay $200.00+ in labor that I was quoted by a service technician.
