This retainer spring, also known as a retainer clip, is an authentic manufacturer replacement part for a variety of lawn and outdoor power equipment. It is responsible for securing the equipment parts and preventing them from dislodging or becoming loose during operation. If the retainer spring is rusted, unable to maintain tension, or is improperly installed, it will cause the equipment parts to become unstable, and noisy, and lead to eventual equipment failure. Carefully remove the spring from its position by releasing the tension on it. Place the new spring in position, and if needed, reapply tension to the spring to ensure it is securely attached to the component parts.
