How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

replace charcoal filter
there are two screws on the top near the vent. Unscrew the two and push the vent grill/cover to the left. It slides out easily. place the charcoal filter in the exhaust slot. there is no groove/slit for it as per manual, it just sits there (almost like an afterthought in design. Prop the bottom of the filter on the stubs on the lower edge
... Read more of the exhaust mouth. Slide the grill/cover back and 'click' it in. put in screws. Note, since you've opened the grill/cover you might as well wipe the grease off. I used kitchen cleaner on a paper towel.

How do i know for sure that the filter needs changing
For model number JVM2070BH01
Hi Harlan,
Thank you for your question. Before replacing the charcoal filter, check to see if it is in good condition and just needs a thorough cleaning, if you can clean it great, if not you will need to replace it. Most microwave manufacturers recommend that charcoal filters be replaced twice a year to combat odours. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Where is the charcoal filter put in the microwave.
For model number JVM2070sh001
Hello Mary, thank you for writing. It is located in behind the Vent Grille. There are two screws to remove to be able to slide the Vent Grille to the side to access the Charcoal Filter. We hope this helps.

I looked up the part and it is listed as No Longer Available/Discontinued sorry. There are no part substitutions listed. My suggestion here would be to call the manufacturer and see if they can provide you with a substitution for these part numbers. Hope this helps!
