Nut-lock, Ni 3296-45

This lock nut is used to secure threaded fasteners, to prevent them from loosening and falling off during use. It is sourced from the original manufacturer for use in various lawn and outdoor equipment. The nut has a nylon insert on one end which holds the fastener and locks the nut in position. It comes in a hexagonal shape, which makes it easier to grip, and ensures better stability. It is normal for a lock nut to corrode, crack or wear down over time. You will likely notice increased vibration, noise, and instability from your equipment when the nut is no longer able to securely hold the fastener.
