replace basket or drum and bearings and seal on a front load washer
removed the tub and drum assy. replaced the bearings and seal put back a new drum. and put it back together.

Water leakage, inner basket bearing play, motor not running
Replaced outer drum, both halves, inner basket/trunnion assy. , Fan housing from excessive vibration/broken mount tabs. Used multimeter to test rotor position sensor ohms, replaced sensor, machine operating as new now.

During the spin cycle it makes a loud knocking sound and shakes a lot. Is this the part that needs to be replaced typically? I changed the front balance ring with no improvement. It was empty of the liquid so it needed changed but it was not the source of the problem.

Hi Karissa, thank you for your question. You do have two balance rings on your appliance. One on the front and one on the back. If you replaced both then you might need to check your suspension springs. I have linked the part below there. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
