Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Boot gaskets are designed to prevent leaks from front load washing machines. They are installed between the door and the tub of the appliance. This gasket forms a seal that prevents waster from escaping during the wash cycle. If you notice that water is starting to leak from around the door of your appliance while it is operation your seal might be worn out or damages, and you will need to replace it. It is not uncommon to have a tear in your boot gasket, if you overload your washer this may result in damage to the gasket. This seal is grey in color, and it includes a laundry deflector and installation instructions.
