It generates the spark needed to ignite the gas in the burner and regulate the heat output. It is commonly found behind the burner control knob on the front panel of your appliance. When the potentiometer is broken or faulty, you may observe delayed or weak ignition of your burner, or it may fail to respond to adjustments made with the control knob. Additionally, you might hear a clicking sound when turning the control knob, but the burner does not light up.
