My previous ice maker made a ton of noise and stopped making ice
It was as simple as removing two hex head screws to remove the old ice maker, then aligning the new ice maker (ensuring the downspout from the water supply was directed into the opening designated for it) and then screwing the two screws back into place. The most difficult part is the space that you have to work with. It was a little di

Ok. You told me what this part is, now show me where it goes. Your schematic does not show the part in question. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
Hi William, Thank you for contacting us again. Looking at the ice bin from the top view, the deflector is just behind the ice container's front cover. It sits from the top left side to the right side.It snaps in place. You will want to insert the tabs and snap in the right side first and then the left. Hope this helps!

What is the function of part #240507202-302647-02?
For model number FGU52642lF2
Hello William,
Thanks for your question. The ice deflector is a piece that closes on the ice bucket to go from crushed to cubed ice. You mainly want to change it if it is not closing properly.
I hope this helps.

Several years ago I found this part loose in the ice bucket after several pieces of plastic came through the ice grinder. The mounting tabs are broken off. The result of this has been runaway ice cube dispensing, so we only use crushed now. Will replacement of this part fix our runaway ice cube dispenser?
