Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This water inlet valve is a genuine replacement component designed to regulate the flow of water to both the ice maker and water dispenser in select refrigerator models. It ensures a steady and controlled supply of water, supporting consistent ice production and reliable dispensing. If the valve is faulty, symptoms may include no ice production, a non-functioning water dispenser, water leaks near the valve, or unusual noises during operation. Replacing the valve can restore proper performance and improve overall efficiency. Installation should be performed with the appliance unplugged or the water supply turned off. Always verify compatibility with your specific model before installation.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money

The water does not disburse from my refrig. Do i need the single water intake valve?Does the dual water intake valve work for both the water dispenser and water to the ice maker? do i need a part for each?
For model number LG LMX25984ST
Hi Sue,
Thank you for your question. Yes, the water inlet valve supplies water for both the water dispenser and the ice maker. If there is no water being dispensed or there is no ice being made, there is likely an issue with the water inlet valve and it will need to be replaced. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

This secondary water inlet valve mjx41869202. The diagram is confusing, is this inside the door behind the ice maker? I assume this is directly tied to the water dispenser switch on front door.
For model number LFX28977ST
Hi Ryan, Thank you for the question. The valves are located on the back of the appliance, the water lines from your water supply hook into the appliance. The valves send water to the ice maker when it is ready to fill and make ice or to the dispenser when you push to dispense water. Hope this helps!

Is this the water valve for the ice maker or is the primary one for the ice maker?
For model number 79571023010
Hi Heith,
Thank you for your inquiry. The primary water valve, part number PS3536019, is the valve that supplies water to the ice maker. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

WATER LINE LEAKING AT CONNECTION TO FRIDGE
For model number LFXS28968S
Hi William, thank you for getting in touch. We have found that the leakage is probably because of a defective water inlet valve, part number PS3533117. You may need to replace the inlet valve to fix the issue. Glad to be of assistance!
Unit is obviously old. Dispenser waterflow recently decreased. (I changed the water filter which didn't improve flow much.) Could the secondary valve solenoid (which always turns the water on) be weak enough to not open the feed to the dispenser causing the weak flow?
For model number LFX21975ST
Hi Don, thank you for the question. Yes, the issue could be with the water inlet valve, part number PS6448332. It ensures a steady and controlled supply of water, supporting consistent ice production and reliable dispensing. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this sorts out your problem!
