The piece that holds the door latch spring to the door frame snapped off
This part is basically the door to the microwave so every part on the original door has to be carefully removed and reassembled onto the new door frame.

Pry off the inner trim piece off with the putty knife so you can lift the door off the microwave and lay it on the floor to work on it. Start removing all the pieces attached to the door and lay them out in order so you'll remember how they go back on the new frame.

For the glass plate, I ran a metal putty knife between both sides of the glass and the old frame to loosen it enough to carefully slide it out of the old door. The stainless steel decorative facing on the old door is glued on so I used the putty knife again to push through the glue to get the facing off the old door.

Putting everything back on the new frame is pretty straightforward. You will need some type of adhesive to hold the decorative facing flush to the new frame.Not a quick job so take your time disassembling the old door so you don't break or damage anything..

Is this the part that the latch spring connects to? The little plastic piece that the spring attaches to broke off. Not the key Part but the other end.
