Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This is a replacement thermal fuse for your dishwasher. The thermal fuse is sometimes known as the thermal cutoff. The thermal fuse shuts off the dishwasher if the dishwasher shorts out or overheats. If your dishwasher is cutting out during the cycle, or will not start, you may have an issue with your thermal fuse. If your dishwasher control panel does not light up, the first thing you should check is the fuse. Before you begin to repair this part, be sure to disconnect the dishwasher from the power source, as you will be working around electricity.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Relatively easy repair. Dishwasher back in operation...
Not really difficult but if you're like me and don't have a lot of experience working on the innards of a dishwasher, take your time, take some pictures of how things are organized inside the panel and follow the enclosed instructions carefully. My dishwasher is working again, but I'm not positive the failure of the thermal fuse was the root cause or a symptom of a larger issue. We'll see. Product shipped quickly and was a perfect replacement for my DW. I found several on-line videos that were helpful with the process.

Not easy but not hard
The part solved my problem. The dish washed has work great ever since. Even after paying for over night shipping the part was only half of what a service call would have been.

Kitchenaid Dishwasher thermal Fuse
The part took longer than expected to get and when i received it wasn't an exact replacement. The connector was different and i had to modify the install. The fuse was the same and it seems to work.

Fuse missing from package. Kind of important.
Package came with the bag torn open after waiting close to 2 weeks for part. Fuse was missing. Box did not appear opened. Called customer service, who promptly sent out the part and is now working great. Thanks.

No power the thermal fuse had blown
I removed the door front, unclipped the PC board cover and removed the thermal fuse from its housing. I did not splice the wires per the enclosed diagram that came with the part but unclipped the fuse from the connectors and then clipped the connectors on the new fuse and slotted the fuse back on the PC board. Put the board cover back on

Faulty door handle shorted out the fuse.
First electrical power to the dish washer was turned off. The top portion of front door panel was then opened up to expose pocket handle and latch assembly. Old latch assembly was replaced with new latch assembly and a new fuse. The door panel was then re-closed and electrical power turned on.

How can i test the fuse? The dishwasher just stopped working, breaker is good.
For model number KUDS30IXBT1
Hello Nat, that is a great question. You will need a multimeter in order to test the thermal fuse. You have to adjust your meter to the Rx1 setting. Touch the edges of the fuse with the mulimeter probes, If it goes to 0 then the fuse is good. If the multimeter does not move at all you need to replace it. Hope this helps!

The dishwasher control panel does not light up or turn on. I have googled this and watched a person replacing a fuse. However the model he was working on looked different. Can you tell me why my dishwasher is not turning on. I have checked breaker at service and is good. Thank you.
For model number KUDC10FXSS2
Hi Steve,
Thank you for your inquiry. If your control panel is not lighting up then the first thing you should check is the fuse. You may also need to to check control panel and the electronic control board as well to see which one is causing the issue. The first I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Hi there my thermal fuse keeps blowing every couple of weeks. How do I find the problem because it is not always there. It seems to come and go randomly.
For model number KUDS30IXSS4
Hello Tristan, Thank you for the question. In most cases this is caused by a surge from a defective Door Switch in the Door Latch, PartSelect Number PS8770043. I suggest testing the switch with a multi meter. Hope this helps!
I have a kitchen aid dishwasher it done start what do you thing it his tom

Why is all the hardware supplied when the fuse itself is all that needs to be replaced. It is wasteful costly and confusing.

For model number KUDC101XBL1
Hello Roger, Unfortunately we have no control over how the manufacturer decides to package a kit, if the fuse had its very part number we could sell it individually. The good news is that you can keep the extra parts as spares in case your original ones become damaged. Hope this helps!

My control panel will not light up, (unresponsive) but when i close the door it will beep like i interrupted the cycle. I dont think this would be the fuse....i think it is the control panel, what are your thoughts
For model number KUDC10FXSS1
Hello Patrick, Thank you for your inquiry. You can test the control panel and the electronic control board with a multimeter. If either one has no continuity, then replace it. Hope this helps!

For model number ADB1400AWB1
Hi Bob, thank you for reaching out. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest that you make sure the door closes properly. If the door closes properly but the problem persists, you may need to check the door switch, part number PS11751645, as it is most likely faulty and may need to be replaced. We hope this helps!
