It seems my 18" wide Frigidaire dishwasher has a door spring problem as the door flops down when i open it. Do you have instructions on how to replace it? Does it take special tools?
For model number FDR252RBS1
Hello Michele, thank you for your question. The door spring for your model is part number 154237401 and the plastic bushing that you probably need as well is part number 154671501. This is a very easy repair. The unit should be pulled out from under the counter (which can mean you have to shut off the water and disconnect power). Once the unit is pulled out you will see the door hinges and spring at the bottom front corners. The springs hook into the hinges and are supported by the bushing pad which slides down into the hook that is on the hinge. There may be some installation videos online for you in case you need some help. There are no special tools required. I hope this helps!
