They are all strung with a coiled wire made of a nickel and a chrome alloy. This wire receives, but resists, a controlled electric current and as a result, the wire heats up. The heat produced is used to dry the clothes in your dryer

Elements assembly thermostat is 2 prong not 3 prong. Oem is 3 prong. Im not sure how to proceed
For model number Dle2301r
Hello Josh, Thank you for your inquiry. All of the parts that we sell are OEM directly from the manufacturer. For the model number that you have provided, there are actually two thermostats on the heater assembly, the high limit thermostat-which does show three prongs-part# FIX3530482, and the thermal fuse-part# FIX3530485, which only has 2. We hope this helps you.
Hi Troy,

How can I disassemble my dryer to replace the heater assembly?
For model number 79681182310
Hi Shakia, thank you for reaching out. Here are some general instructions that may help you replace the dryer: First, unplug the dryer for safety. Remove the back panel by removing the screws. Slide the top panel backward and remove it by lifting it. Remove the wire harness and screws from the control board and place them on one side. Open the front door; remove the screws holding the lint screen to the front panel. Close the door and remove the screw on the front panel. Bend the locking tab on the front panel with the help of a plier. Remove the wire attached to the front panel, pull the panel upward to free it from brackets, and put the panel aside. Unplug the wire from the light socket. Remove the side bracket and any wire attached to it. Unplug the moisture sensor, located at the lower right hand. Remove the screw from the Buckhead, and to remove it, lift it. Reach inside the unit, move the idler pulley to the left, and remove the belt. Use the belt to hold up the tub and take it out. Now that you have access to the heater assembly, all you need to do is remove the wires using the screwdriver. Remove the screws from the heater assembly, take it out, and install the new one. We hope this information helps!

Description spot on!
Part was exactly as described and fit Kenmore model perfectly! The whole component fixed my 2011 dryer with extra parts (thermostat) that likely needed replacement which took out some of the guess work during replacement. Worth installing when troubleshooting damp clothes and extended drying times!

Easy Repair
We took a chance on this part rather than but a new dryer, and for once- it worked in our financial favor.

Straightforward repair, did not have to replace one module at a time as the 3 control modules come with the heater box. Replace one part the dryer works.
Part was the exact replacement for the old part. One control had a single pole connection, dryer has two wires connected to that pole. Soldered the second wire to the new making a two wire connector and made it work well.
