After installing the part I found that the ice maker was still not working. I removed the ice maker and found the gears weren't line up.
Took old part off and as I removed one hose I put that hose in the corresponding color hole. Then screwed the part on the refrigerator. Water was coming out of the water dispenser fast, but no ice. So I had to continue troubleshooting the ice maker.

Do water come through the valve after hooking up water line
For model number 5230jb2009a
Hi Roy,
Thank you for your question. Once the waterline has been hooked up to the water inlet valve, water should go through the valve and into the refrigerator. If water is not coming in, check and make sure that the water supply is turned on. If it is, then check the water inlet valve for continuity with a multimeter. With a multi-meter in Rx1 mode, touch the terminals with the probes to test for continuity. A functional water inlet valve should put off a reading of 200 to 500 ohms. If you receive any other reading, you need a replacement water inlet valve. Also check the water lines and make sure everything is fitted correctly. We hope this helps! Good luck with the repair!

LG fridge 17 years old with water dispenser only on door. (Ice inside) Water is very slow and noticeable humming behind door. It has not gotten heavy use over the years except when family visits. Any idea on cause? Should I call repair man? And what is the average life of this unit? Thanks
For model number LFD25860ST
Hello George, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, we would recommend checking the water line for clogging. If the issue persists, then the issue is most probably with the water inlet valve, part number PS3527469. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. The French door refrigerators have an average lifespan of about 10-15 years. We hope this helps!

Replaced the ice maker assembly on our 14 year old Kenmore thinking this would fix not making a lot of ice. The new ice maker assy is only producing 1 cube of ice at a time. What else could be the problem as the water dispenser is flowing well so I don't think it's a water supply issue.

Hi Ingo, thank you for reaching out. Water inlet valve could not be an issue because fridge needs less pressure to make ice than it does to dispense water. We would recommend checking the water tube, part number PS3536013, to make sure it is not clogged. Good luck with your repair!
It say this replaces my original part- 5220jb2009a. I see no picture of the replacement part and want to be sure this what i need. My original part has only one water port , four terminals and what appears to be two solenoids. Can you confirm ? This is my third attempt at the correct replacement. Thanks.

Hi Robert,
Thank you for your question. This would not be the correct water inlet valve for your refrigerator. The part number listed under your model number for the water inlet valve is PS3536019. If you would like to place an order for it, you may order it either online or by calling our customer service line and anyone will be happy to assist you. We hope this helps! If you have any questions, please let us know.
The water dispenser on the outside of the left door works but it continues to drip for like 30 to 40 more drops. I replaced the main inlet water valve in the back of the refrigerator. I am not sure if I should replace the panel on the front where the water dispenser is.

Hello Rick, thank you for your question. Sometimes there is a normal drip from the refrigerator's water dispenser. If water splashes off of ice cubes or a glass is removed too quickly, the dispenser may appear to be leaking. But it will stop shortly. The splashed water will probably drip below for a moment and then stop, and some dispensers may drip for a few seconds or more after the glass is removed. We hope this helps.
