My fridge is not working. It will not cool on the top and it will not freeze. Will the main board be causing the issue?
For model number GFSS6KKYESS
Hello Erick,
Thanks for your question. We would first advise testing the evaporator fan motor with a multi-meter for continuity and replacing it if it does not show continuity, as that is a more common cause for your appliance being too warm.
I hope this helps.
Please confirm compatibility of board with my GE refrigerator. Thanks, joe a.

Freezer over freezes and i cannot switch from ice to water on panel
For model number Gfss6kkyess
Hello and thank you for writing.
It certainly sounds like it could be a faulty defrost heater PS8690731 you should check the part(s) for signs of damage or test with a multimeter, and replace the part(s) as needed. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.
Suddenly both the freezer and the refrigerator are frosting over. It's not the door seals, nor have we left the doors ajar. I suspect the defrost timer circuit. Is that on the main board?
For model number GFSS6KKYESS
Hi Richard, thank you for the question. Yes, the defrost timer for your model does not come separately. The main control board, part number PS3493785, manages the functions of the refrigerator, such as cooling and defrost times. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
