This clip ensures that the knob is securely fastened to the control shaft, allowing you to properly select the correct time and setting for your dryer. If your dryer will not start or shut off, the timer will not advance, or the dryer shuts off too soon, the issue may be the control knob itself. This clip is sold individually. Although this part fits with some different brands, be sure to check the list of brands below to make sure it fits with your dryer unit. Refer to the manual provided by the manufacturer for further installation instructions.

Just received the d knob clip part #ps6011700. How do you get the clip to fit into the knob, i'm afraid i'm going to break it forcing it in?
Hello Susan, thank you for your question. The D-Shaped Knob Clip should simply slide into the hole on the back of the knob itself. You may need to push quite hard to get it into place but it should not damage the knob itself. I hope this helps!

I just need a new knob for my dryer. Part of the plastic broke on the female d and it will not turn the dryer temperature select. I am currently using needle nose pliers to turn setting when we need to change temp settings.

The knob on far right that is connected to timer just turns freely. I have to turn dial assembly in order to start cycle. Now the machine started to not advance to next cycle. I have to manually turn dial assembly to get it to next cycle. What you i need to replace?

The washer would not turn on, the dial just spins, it will not "engage" the gear? Of the control/timer. I disassembled and there is a small plastic shaft that has teeth on both ends that the knob catches with and allows the dial to turn. One end of the plastic (black approximately 3/4" long by 3/8" od) appears "sheared" which i would guess goes inside the timer.

Hello Craig, thank you for your question. It sounds like you need the timer knob as well as the timer. The timer knob comes in two pieces, the knob you grab to turn part number PS6447712 and the diap part, that has the small indicator line on it part number PS6011700. If the shaft of the timer itself is cracked, or broken or worn, you would want to replace the timer as well. That is part number PS4704240. I hope this helps!

Can's set temperature the knob broke and the male part it clips onto is missing also. What parts do i need to buy for this?
For model number GCWP1000M0WW
Hi Kimberly,
Thank you for your question. It is likely you would have to replace the parts of your knob. I have listed all of the parts that you would need to replace if you are looking to replace all of your knob parts. Good luck with your repair.
The cycle selector knob sticks when colors is selected, and continues to run water without advancing. It used all hot water from water heater. The permanent press and whites seem to advance ok.

Hello Doug, Thank you for the question. This could be an indication the Timer Switch is faulty and may need to be replaced. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

Timer knob cracked twice. Found out the timer switch was bad.
Removed the 3 knobs. They just pull off. Removed 6 screws on the back side of the control panel. The front (plastic panel then just separates from the back). Then look at how the switch is mounted on the plastic panel. There should be 2 small pieces of plastic that holds it in. Carefully twist the switch in the appropriate direction so it comes free. Before you remove any wires from the old switch remember what colors go where ! I used needle nose pliers to remove the connections from the switch. Make the new connections, mount the switch, put the screws back in the panel. BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING. UNPLUG THE ELECTRICAL CORD !!!
It was so incredibly simple! The site made it foolproof to find the right parts - and the actual replacement job itself was easier than we ever could have imagined. Background: I love to do laundry - I mean A LOT! So - I use the washer and dryer every night to wash the familie's clothing and blankets and towels. After heavy use - the outer knob stripped out. We threw it away and were using pliers to turn the small plastic knob underneath. After a few months - that plastic wore down and we could not turn it on at all!
We live in a Condominium, space is tight especially in the Utility room where the washer/dryer are located. Turned dryer breaker off at the electical panel. Removed the top cover and front assembly w/door and front drum support, right where the unit was located. Had to gain rear access to loosen drum drive belt so undid the dryer vent hose to floor connection through a front acess hole. Moved the unit out to the breakfast nook as well as disconnecting the power cable from the wall socket. Removed the rear access panel covers and unhooked the drive belt. At the front removed the top screws off the lower cross member to allow spreading of the side covers to allow the removal of the drum. Removed drum and found the bearing bushing gone, reduced to powder. Using the supplied instuction sheet, replaced the rear bearing assembly, replaced the drum after vacumming the whole interior and started the reassembly of the unit using the new belt and moved the unit back into place. Reconnected the power cable and dryer vent then lastly replaced the lint filter and selector knob. Closed the breaker and turned on the machine, no noise!!! Incidently I am 78 years old. Thanks PartSelect.
First I removed the 4 screws that held the element in place. I pulled it out, and than I decided to check on the hose that was attached to the water level pressure switch, so I opened the front of the washer and sure enough, all I had to do was clean the hose attached to the water sensor, and as it turned out, I really did not need to change the water sensor, but at least I have a water level pressure switch, water sensor just in case I really do need to change it.
The person on the phone was so helpful in locating the exact timer needed. We received the prt 3 days later and it was so easy to install. I would highly recommend this company. A local shop wanted to charge 3x more then what we paid.
I had immediately assumed the problem was the timer/switch, P/N WE4M365 and foolishly ordered that part. Should you ever encounter non-adjustment of the timer/switch, try another knob from the console. That was the only problem here as it turns out. Also, the knob DOES come with the "D" shaped insert clip.
Disassembled back splash to inspect timer. Ordered parts (at a 50% discount from brick and mortar stores). Parts delivered in two days. Installed new timer and had everything back together in 10 minutes. No-brainer!
Just followed the installation video. The only issue with the video was that a phillips screwdriver was specified and I actually needed a torx screwdriver.

The right part
I have never seen a better D shaped clip. Imagine my satisfaction at seeing it fit right on. Oh, and my joy at finding the old one inside while I was doing the repair, so I do not need to by another 5 dollar clip again. Yes...too expensive, but you want a repair to be right, so I bought it.

Spare
Bought this clip just in case the old one broke when l was fixing the motor and putting the knob back on. It seemed to me that this could have been sent in a regular envelope, first class mail and arrived in half the time. The part was about the size of the eraser at the end of a #2 pencil. It came in a bubble wrap envelope.
