Timer was no longer counting down to finish
Removed the screws holding the Top of the Dryer control panel. Pulled the top off, The section with the controls hinged down for easy access.
Used needle nose pliers to pull off the wiring harness. The timer module has grooves that all you need to do is turnit a quarter turn and it pops right out, no screws or funny clips, real easy.
The new Timer goes in just as easy, line up the tabs with the slot and quater turn locks it in. Repalce wiring harnes on same pins as removed, screw the top back in place and good to go!

I have a diagnostic question. My dryer will turn on when the start knob is turned and will stop when the door is opened but will not advance through drying cycles. My thought is that the timer is bad. Is this correct and what are some other things that could cause this?

Hi Andy, Thank you for your question. There are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the rotary start switch, the drive belt, the motor, the door latch, the pulley, the door strike and the thermostat. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
