Frig makes a consistent clicking noise and the freezer temperature will rise but then fall back to zero. I have replaced the defrost thermostat and i have replaced the run capacitor. The clicking noise is still there. Sounds like a relay switching off and on. Could it be the starter? Item f30? Your drawings show the run capacitor plugs into the starter and then to the compressor.

Hi Chris, Thank you for your question. Based on what you have described, you will need to replace the run capacitor. This part helps the compressor kick on and off while maintaining a constant temperature to keep things frozen in your freezer. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

I replaced the Compressor Start Relay but it is still making a clicking noise
For model number FRS6LF7JS5
PartSelect logo
Hello Bob, thank you for reaching out. A common cause of compressor clicking is dirty condenser coils. If these coils are covered in dust, grease, or other debris, they cannot dissipate heat as efficiently and that causes the compressor starts clicking. You should clean the condenser coil at least once a year. If this is not the case, the next part to check is the condenser fan motor, part number PS3497843. If the fan does not turn on when the compressor is running, the compressor will overheat and you will hear the compressor clicking off and clicking on again. We hope this solves your problem!

My freezer or fridge wont cool, or freeze, the fans turn on, i was told it could be the start relay to the compressor,i was told to take it out and shake it a bit and if it rattled it was a sign of it being damaged or needs replacement, and compressor seems to not start, what do you guys suggest??
For model number Fgus2642lf2

Hello Miguel, thank you for writing. For this symptom you will want to consider either the Evaporator Fan Motor part PS1526073, the Electronic Control Board part PS3419838, or the Temperature Sensor part PS1765215 for your model. We hope this helps.

My fridge is working but my freezer is set for 5 degrees but often it jumps to 20 degrees. Then goes back down to 5. This started after we attempted to run the ice maker after not using it for so long. The ice maker is also not working.
For model number LGUS2642LP0
PartSelect logo
Hello Tc, Thank you for the question. We suggest testing the Defrost Thermostat. The best way to do this is to remove the thermostat from the refrigerator so you can control the temperature of the sensor. You can let the sensor warm up to room temperature. With the sensor warmed up to room temperature the sensor should read approximately 6.2K Ohms at 68°F. With the thermistor submerged is a glass full of ice water, the sensor should be very close to 32°F which should read approximately 16.3K Ohms. If the values that you are getting are far off from these readings, then the sensor is bad and should be replaced. We hope this helps!

My fridge interior light goes on & off with clicking sound. Fridge will shut off at times but will stay on and stop clicking after unplugging and plugging back in. Compressor and fan are running and both compartments maintain temperature while running. Do I need to replace the run capacitor or the starter? Or something else?
For model number FGUS2642LF0

Hello Ed, Thank you for the question. If the Run Capacitor or the Starter were faulty the compressor would not run. This could be an indication the Electronic Control Board is faulty. This Board manages the functions of the refrigerator. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!
