It's a small Yardman push mower, bolts that holds the blade broke off. Do I have to ease out the piece of bolt that broke off in the shaft or can the bracket slide of the shaft be replaced?
Hi Jose,
Thank you for your question. To remove the bolt from the lawn mower, first remove the boot from the spark plug, so that the engine does not start while you are working on the lawn mower. Turn your lawn mower onto its side or if you find it easier to work on, you can turn the mower over to work on it. Place a block of wood between the blade and the lawn mower to keep the blade in place when you remove the nut. Then spray WD-40 on the nut and leave it for an hour before you start to work on it. You may have to apply this a few more times if you cannot remove the bolt on your first try. When you are ready to remove the bolt, put a pair of work gloves on. You will need to use a wrench to remove the nut. Turn the wrench counter clockwise to remove it. Once the nut has been removed, set it aside and remove the blade by pulling it towards you. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
