This genuine OEM ice maker kit is designed to fit refrigerators that did not originally come with an ice maker. This kit contains everything needed to install the new ice maker on your refrigerator including: the ice maker, ice bin, inlet valve, fill tube, and hardware. If your new ice maker does not function properly after being installed, check the freezer temperature. The freezer must to be around zero degrees Fahrenheit. Remember to disconnect the power and water supply to your refrigerator before beginning this installation. Make sure to check that your model is compatible with this part before ordering. Note: The manufacturer has updated this part. It may differ in appearance but will function the same as the original.

It was my first time to install a ice maker.
I first read the instruction manual then I watched the installation video. My water line to it was 3/8. Went to the local ACE Hardware to purchase a short peace of 1/4 copper tubing and the fittings to connect them together. It makes ice every 55 minutes.

Wrong electrical connector.
I bought a new Whirlpool Refrigerator that didn't have an ice maker.
I wanted to install an ice maker. I searched your web site and found the model ice maker model it said I needed. WPW10715709. This one was a 4 wire 8 terminal. I needed a 4 wire flat connector. WPW10715708. You approved the return. It cost me $50 to return it. I believe you should refund me the cost of this postage. Your web site gave me the wrong model number.

The parts where incorrect
I received two Ice Maker kits and one was packaged wrong and the second was also wrong, I called the support staff and worked with them for over two hours before being told I could return the wrong parts for a full refund. After two / three weeks and a second call I received a email stating my refunds are being processed and I was charged shipping and return fee’s buyer beware!

ordered a new ice maker, new refrigerator did not come with one.
I watched the video that was included with my on line order, it was helpful, although different model shown . I would say it was not difficult to install, the enclosed instructions were a bit confusing.

Getting Ice Maker to sit in place prior to tightening screws.
Don not completely remove holding icemaker screws. Unit slips over screws and drops down into place and the use nutdriver to tighten in place. Rest of unit was sound and wasn’t replaced.
After icemaker is installed wait for a while and unit self activated and creates ice cubes.

Installed Ice Maker in Freezer
Installed ice machine components using kit and included instructions. Easy! Ran a copper line from under sink valve to back of refrigerator under the floor. Drilled two holes to run copper line. Plumber turned water off and replaced single valve with a double valve (one line to faucet and the other for the copper line). Installed shut off valve and filter at the other end of copper line. Then stainless hose to refrigerator. Everything went smooth. Double check the factory installed plastic line from the electric valve to the inlet for your freezer. Mine was barely inserted and leaked. I pushed it in all the way and it is fine now... Ice maker works really well! Wish I had done this sooner!

Ice maker fit perfectly over 2 top screws. I tightened them and put the one on the bottom. I was done in less than 10minutes. Everything fit perfectly as expected. Couldn't have been eaiser. Parts Select is my go to online store.
