The light in my lower oven stays on and the temperature does not heat above 116 degrees. Will this high limit switch solve my problem?
For model number JTD3000SN1SS
Hi Warren, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, the temperature sensor, part number PS8754411, is faulty and is causing the mentioned issues. The faulty sensor prevents the control system from completing the heating cycle correctly, leaving the indicator light in the "heating on" state indefinitely. We hope this helps.
After running a cleaning cycle, my oven will no longer heat. Neither the standard heating element nor the broiler element works. I have a second identical oven, so I swapped the temperature sensor and ruled that out. I also tested all the heating elements, and they are fine. The control panel appears to operate normally.
For model number PT7050SF5SS
Hi Keith, thank you for reaching out. The high-limit thermostat acts as a thermal kill switch that permanently trips when temperatures exceed safe limits. This occurs during the self-clean cycle when intense heat causes the internal contact to snap open, physically severing the electrical path to both the bake and broil elements. You may need to replace the high-limit thermostat, part number PS17626188, to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
