Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This heating element is a genuine OEM replacement sourced directly from the original manufacturer for use in various models of dishwashers. The element is designed to heat water inside the dishwasher during the wash and rinse cycles to enhance the efficiency of the cleaning process. It is positioned at the bottom of the dishwasher tub, beneath the lower rack. The heating element includes a bushing, which is a protective covering that prevents water from coming into contact with the electric terminals, and two plastic nuts.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money
Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

Leaking Dishwasher
After pulling the dishwasher out, I was able to determine the leak was occurring around the plastic nuts on the end of the heating element. I removed the heating element and saw that even though there were washers on the ends that protruded through the backside of the machine, they really weren't sealing the holes the element was sticking
... Read more through. Looking at YouTube videos on the installation procedure, I noticed the element being installed had a sort of metal grommet permanently affixed to each end and the rubber washers were between the grommet and the dishwasher body. I ordered the new part and saw this to be when I received the new part. This grommet allowed the washer to seal the hole, once the plastic nuts were installed on the backside of the dishwasher. This seems to have stopped the leak. I don't know how the original part ever worked correctly, since the washers freely sat on the element with nothing to force them up against the body of the dishwasher and seal the holes. It may have been leaking long before I discovered the problem.

Does the heater element (part# w11537778) come with the two rubber bushings that create the seal so water won't leak out of the tub? I know these rubber bushings are also sold separately for like $7.50/each, but I want to know if they are included when you purchase the heater element? Thanks, James

After the cycle (Wash and Dry) is complete something inside continues to run (think it is the fan) and does not stop (running for hours) until the door is opened.
Why does the fan run so, so long and not shut off? How long should it run?
Dishwasher is less than a year old. Can you help
For model number kdpm604kps
Hello Richard, Thank you for your inquiry. We have researched the model number you have provided and do not show a fan. If your dishwasher continues to run until the door is opened, then you may have an issue with the door latch assembly or the strike. You can test the door latch with a multimeter. If you are unfamiliar with how a multimeter functions, we have videos available to assist you. You may also have an issue with the water inlet valve as well. We hope this helps and if you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!
