This is a rear shaft OEM part from Makita for a lawnmower. The rear shaft can also be referred to as the rear axle assembly. It secures the rear wheels to the lawn mower. Before your start this repair, make sure the engine has cooled. Remove the wire and boot from the spark plug to prevent an accidental start up. It is suggested to perform this repair with little or no fuel in the tank. To access the rear shaft, you will start by prying off each wheel cover and loosening the mounting nuts that secure the rear wheels. Place the lawnmower on its side and remove the axle.
