How does this ice maker determine when to make ice. Everytime I get a scoop of ice it seems to make another tray, just because I disturbed it.

Hi Tony, thank you for the great question. According to our research, the ice maker has a built-in sensor that monitors the temperature of the ice mold (ice tray). Once the mold reaches the proper temperature, the icemaker ejects the ice cubes and refills the ice mold with water. The ice maker also contains an ice maker switch to turn on and off, you can also turn it off if you want to. We hope this information helps!

Icemaker will not make ice. Is there a reset button anywhere?

Hello Jim, thanks for your inquiry. This ice maker does not have a reset button, but it has a switch located by the ice maker that turns it on and off. After confirming the ice maker is on, try turning it off for 10 seconds and turning it back on. If the problem persists then you may need to replace the ice maker, part number PS16220914.
