will this part keep the water from filling up
For model number gdt580ssf8ss
Hello Bobby, thank you for reaching out to PartSelect. No, this part monitors the settings when you select them on your dishwasher touchpad. The flood switch, part number PS8690623, controls the hot and cold water filling your washer tub to ensure the proper amount of water. You may need to replace this part if your dishwasher is overfilling or underfilling with water. If you require assistance to place an order, please contact customer service. We hope that helps!
My dishwasher fills up with water but will not push the water through the jet. It will go through all the cycles like that draining and filling. It started with the element not working and progressed to this. I tried to do the rest both the power cycle reset and the service reset with the video you all posted but when I put it in service mode and hit select cycle it kicks out of service mode and the only light on is the control lock light. It will not do anything else in service mode.

Hi Erica, thank you for reaching out. Ensure that the control lock has not been activated. If it is fine, the issue could be with the wash pump. The heating element often stops working first because it requires water to circulate over it to avoid overheating. The wash pump kit for your model is part number PS16554618. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this sorts out your problem!
Hello, I just want to follow up from my previous question. The control lock isn't on the only time it comes on is when you are in service mode and you hit select cycle for the next step and instead of it going to the cycle it turns all lights out except for the control lock light. The water level was fine when the element went out that was just the first thing that stopped working. Then the water stopped spraying halfway through the pre-wash cycle, now the water doesn't spray at all during any cycle. These things all happened gradually and at times it was intermittent.

Hello Erica, thank you for getting in touch. According to the issue description, the control board could be faulty, and you will need to replace the control board, part number PS12726418, to fix the issue. We hope this helps.
