Why buy the real thing?

The Door Open Button has much more play or give at the bottom when pushing it in, to open the door. Until today, the button has always "felt" firm no matter where we pressed on it.
Is it the button itself, or something under the button that is malfunctioning?
Like a spring or something??
I hesitate to use it because if I put something in the oven to heat it up, am I not going to be able to get it out if the button fails totally??
Do I need a new button, or something that is under the button???
Please advise.
For model number LMC2075ST
Hi John, thank you for contacting us. Based on our understanding, we would suggest checking the button for any damage first. If it is fine, the issue could be with the spring under the button. Its part number is PS3630700. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
The part where the door button attaches is broken. What part do I need?
For model number LMC2075ST
Hi Steve, thank you for contacting us. If the broken part is the door latch lever, then its part number is PS3523009. But if it is an internal part, then it comes attached to the sub-controller assembly, part number PS12371474. We hope that helps!
