Hello. The surface light under the whirlpool microwave stopped working. I’ve replaced both the socket and the bulb and the light still doesn’t work. I had replaced the regular bulb with an led version and it stopped working after that. I’ve looked around and unless you have a different thought it seems like it’s probably the control board. Thank you for any advice. Wink Bennett.

Thank you for your question. If you have replaced the light bulb and the light socket and the light is still not working check the wiring and the electronic control board. Check the wiring to see if it is connected properly to the light socket. If it is, check for signs of damage or burn marks. If it shows any of these signs you will need to replace it. If the electronic control board shows any signs of damage, wear, scorching or burn marks, it will need to be replaced. Control panel works, however there is no indicator information in the window as to what is on or timing?

Hi James, thank you for the question. According to our research, the mentioned symptom is mostly caused by a fault in the display control board, part number PS12348884. Please check its wiring and make sure all connections are intact. If this does not help, replacing the board is the most viable solution. We hope this information is useful!

Whirlpool microwave
Digital display (clock, countdown timer, describes selections) sometimes goes blank. Everything still else works. Display will come back on next time you go to use or a few hour later. Time does not have to be reset. What part do I need to replace? Thanks for your help.

Thank you for your question. If the digital display periodically goes blank, check the connections between the control panel and the electronic control board to see if they are properly fitted. If the wiring between the parts are fine, then the electronic control board will need to be replaced. We hope this helps!
