This genuine OEM drain pump is designed for use in washing machines. It removes the water out of the washing machine during the drain cycle. The drain pump can fail if it is clogged with debris or due to other reasons such as a damaged housing, broken impeller, or a faulty motor. In this case, your washer will leak, drain very slowly, or fail to drain altogether. Remember to remove any small items from your clothes before placing them in the washer as these are often the cause of blockages. To replace the drain pump, start by unplugging the washing machine and turning off the water supply. You can find the drain pump at the bottom of the machine. Depending on your model, you will need to either remove the washer panels or reach through the rear of the machine to access the pump. Remove the two hoses attached to the pump and the mounting screws that hold it in place. Place a small dish or towels under the drain hose as it is common for some water to flow out at this point. Pull the faulty drain pump from the washer and position the new one in its place. Secure it in place with the appropriate fasteners and reattach the two hoses to complete the replacement.
