Why buy the real thing?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. Simply put, this means that the company who made your appliance is also supplying the replacement part for it.

My dryer is making a high pitch squeaking sound. I opened it up and it seemed to be coming from the black cylinder (a pump or compressor?). It did not seem due to a pulley as I heard the noise while the drum was not spinning. In the part sheet, the part I am referring to is not numbered or identified. It is the cylinder in the east corner of the diagram. What is this? Could it be the source of the sound? Can it be replaced? How much would it cost? Thanks
