Door Gasket Specifications
This is the door gasket for your freezer. It is white in color and made of rubber. The door gasket covers the circumference of the freezer door and creates a seal. If the gasket is loose or worn out, cold air can leak out of the freezer, and it can force the refrigerator to work harder to remain cool. If you notice that your freezer is running for longer than normal, of if there is excessive frost buildup, you may need to replace the door gasket. This part is sold individually and it is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

I am getting frost build up all around the door. As it melts i am getting water on the floor. I think i need to replace the gasket. Is this something i can do as a diy and which gasket do i order?
For model number Kenmore 253.28262801

Hello John, thank you for your question. You can definitely replace the gasket as a DIY'er. The door gasket is PartSelect Number: PS11770645. The best thing to do is simply unscrew panel but do not remove it. Remove old gasket. Fit new gasket between panel and door. Fasten screws and there should be no more leaks. A good tip before installing the gasket is to use a hair dryer to warm the gasket, or set it in a tub of hot water to get any wrinkles out. I hope this helps.

Freezer was frosting too much for air getting in the side of freezer gasket seal.
Loosen screws, removed old gasket seal, replace with new gasket (nice to use 2 sets of hands) and re screwed. Used hairdryer to heat up and fluff out a spot that wasnt seal all the way. Pretty simplementation to do.

Easy Repair
I ordered the Replacement Freezer Door Gasket in May so that I could effect the replacement after completing our move into a new home in late June. I did open the box upon receipt and confirmed that I had ordered/received the correct part and that it had arrived undamaged -- which is what happened. About a week after the move-in, I was able to tackle the job of installing the part. I found the directions to be very clear, the part to be well made, and the installation very straight-forward. The end result was a rejuvenated freezer. Hoorah!!!
Debra F - July 24, 2019

Door Gasket
Disappointed that there were no directions. Figured it out, trial and error. Doesn't completed work at first, but over a few days it seemed to fit better. Did not completely solve the frost issue but it is considerably less.
Emile W - July 11, 2019

Great Part
The part fit perfectly.
Reginald D - May 13, 2019

Gasket came in somewhat timely fashion. It was not emergency so I was ok with time frame. Gasket was easy to install and fit perfectly.
Gary Q - September 14, 2018

Gasket
Pretty simple to install. Only drawback was some of the gasket was buckled/bent up. Overall I would buy again when needed.
Paul B - September 13, 2018

repair was easy
part was delayed due to back order-directions were good except could not find RTV caulk and petrol locally(home depot & lowes) suggest shipping these items with part. Part select is a great site and my site for any parts i need in future

Good fit and good results
Satisfied with replacement. Not too difficult to replace gasket, but did take some time with all of the screws, etc. Drill driver made speedy work of them. Develop a plan.
