Burner will not shut off completely .... in off position there is still a small flame
Will a new valve fix this problem?
For model number FGGS30PFU
Hello David, thank you for reaching out. If the burner does not shut off completely and there is still a small flame, the primary cause could be the malfunctioning of the valve you mentioned. In this case, replacing the valve could solve the issue. Another apparent reason could be a faulty knob, part number PS11703719. If the knob is broken, you might not be able to turn it properly. Or, the knob might be turning without generating any friction underneath. Regardless, it may look like your burner is off when it is still on. In this case, replacing the knob seems to be a viable solution. If this is not the case, there could be a faulty surface element, part number PS8770166. As you use the stove, the surface element may stop functioning properly. This is normal with wear and tear, but some stoves may wear out faster than others depending on how often you use them. If the surface element has reached the end of its life, it might need to be replaced. We hope this information helps!
