Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
Explore this specially designed Whirlpool Microwave Interlock Switch, a genuine OEM part. This switch assembly is compatible with a broad spectrum of microwaves from Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana, Inglis, and Magic Chef. Its primary function is to ensure the microwave is unable to start operation when the door isn't secure. The switch assembly may contain multiple associated components included in your parts diagram. Given the necessity of proper testing for microwave shielding and interlock switches post-replacement, it's advised that a service technician should carry out this installation. Kindly confirm the part number correctness for your model before purchase as parts may differ subtly regarding size and shape.
How Buying OEM Parts Can Save You Time and Money

How many door latches are in my kitchen aid KBHS109BSS00 microwave? As well, how do I test to see which switch needs replacing?
Thank you
For model number KBHS109BSS00
Hello Danny, Thank you for writing. There are two Interlocks listed for this model. Each Interlock has a Switch. You will need to use a multimeter to see if is is working correctly. Use your ohmmeter to test your switch for continuity. Begin by setting your ohmmeter to measure resistance at a scale of Rx1. If you are using an analog meter, touch the metal tips of the test leads together and zero your ohmmeter by adjusting the thumbwheel in the front of the meter until the needle reads '0' on the scale. Touch one meter lead to the COM terminal and the other lead to the N.O. terminal. Do not push in on the actuator. Your meter should give a reading of infinity, meaning the circuit is open, and there is no continuity. Without moving the meter's leads, press down on the actuator until you hear a 'click'. With the 'click' of the actuator, the meter should produce a resistance reading of zero ohms. This means the circuit is closed and continuity is present. We hope this helps!
Our microwave model KBHS109BSS00 doesn’t start when pressed. The inside light would flash for 1 sec and shut off.
We were told by a tech that the computer board is the problem, but I’ve also asked your company’s tech and they’ve said it could possibly be the door latches.
So this model has 2 Door Interlock PS11770344 and 2 Door Switch -250V PS 2338920. So if we were to repair this problem, does that mean I need to order two PS11770344 and two PS2338920 to do the repair? Or do I need to also order CNTRL-ELEC PS11769949 as well?
Thank you for your help!!

Hello Danny, thank you for writing. We recommend starting with two of the Interlocks PS11770344. Each Interlock has a Door Switch - 250V PS2338920 included. If, that doesn't work, we do sell the panel WPW10420954 as well. Good luck with your repair.
