Glass Cooktop - Black WPW10396765

The part is exactly the correct part. It came with installation instructions, plus I downloaded some from this site, plus I had the original documentation. As I was removing the broken glass cooktop, I realized that it had been improperly installed. I do believe that the mistake(s) contributed to the glass fracture. The guts of the rangetop is/are supposed to rest into two side brackets. Because the hole in the counter top was too large (wide) the brackets were not used. Thus the glass rangetop was attached to the heavy "guts" of the stove. The entire weight was then resting on just 2cm of glass around the periphery. When you add heavy cast iron cauldrons, and fill them with soup or chili...you're talking another 10 to 20 lbs. NO Wonder that the glass broke !
