Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This electronic control board serves as the central command unit for the oven, regulating temperature and managing user inputs from the control panel. It coordinates key components such as relays and heating elements to ensure accurate cooking performance and responsive controls. Designed to restore functionality in cases of no heat, incorrect temperature readings, or unresponsive touchpads, this board is essential for maintaining safe and efficient oven operation. Symptoms of a faulty board include a blank display, failure to start, or inconsistent heating. Installation requires disconnecting the appliance from power and carefully replacing the existing board with the new unit.

My Maytag oven has overheated causing a fire!
1. Is their a recall on this oven?
2.Do you suggest replacing the chassis temp sensor first?
3. Then the control board , should the sensor not fix the problem?
Thank you
For model number YMER8800FZ0
Hello Lindsay, Thank you for contacting us. Checking your model number, we have not been advised of any recalls by the manufacturer. If the oven has overheated, we would recommend checking the safety thermostat first, the temperature sensor, and then the oven elements. You can test the parts with a multimeter, and also check for any visible damage to the wiring. Good luck with your repair.
heat up slow replace bake element relay clicks on and off only heat to 190 in 1hour check ohms for temp sen ok 1180 .
For model number MER8800FZ2
Hi John, thank you for the question. As you have already replaced the bake element and checked the temperature sensor, the issue could be with the oven control board, part number PS11753216. It monitors and regulates the temperature of the oven. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this sorts out your problem!
