it was the right part to keep the dishwasher from leaking
The number 1 cause reported by other users of the leak we were experiencing was a 15 year-old spray arm that sprayed water out at the lower left corner of the door. Swapping out the part was easy once I got the calcium deposits removed using vinegar.

Lower arm sprayer
Right part but was defective. Had to make center hole bigger to match old center hole. Thank goodness we had the tool to do that. As far as your customer service, that was awesome.

The lower blade will not come lose. Have turn the nut many . Left hand screw.
For model number MDBH979AWS3
Hello Leif, thank you for your question. To remove this spray arm, you will have to hold the spray arm and turn the nut to the right. This is a left hand threaded part. Turn the nut about 2 times, and it should release the spray arm to be lifted up and out of the unit. The nut is not removed, it remains in the dishwasher. I hope this helps.
