No water in ice maker feed line to icemaker
I replaced the water inlet valve. This was a easy except for the place the valve was located. I removed the back panel cover after unplugging the refrigerator, shut off the water feed line to the refrigerator. After some cleaning with a vacuum cleaner, to remove build up dust and lint, I was able to reach in and pull the valve loose from the mounting bracket. I removed the electrical plugs from the valve and all three water lines. One that was completed, I was able to remove the valve from it's location. Replacing the valve, was easy enough, as I just attached the water line hoses back into the mounting location and plugged in the electrical plugs, then placed the valve back onto the mounting bracket. I then turned the water feed line back on and checked for leaks. Once I was able to make sure there were no water leaks, I replaced the back panel cover and plugged the refrigerator back it to the power plugin. The valve immediately began working, supplying water to the icemaker.

Hi Stacy, Thank you for your inquiry. If the ice maker is not making ice, you will need to check the ice maker and the ice maker motor, the water filter, the bi-metal defrost thermostat and the motor housing. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

I have a Whirlpool gold fridge that has stopped making ice. I have replaced the water filter and the inner water control valve. The water line is not frozen up. Water comes out of the water dispenser but i can't seem to get any water to the ice maker. Is it possible the outer water control valve maybe bad? Any other suggestions?

Hi Alton, thank you for your question. There are two parts that you should check for this issue. The first part to test would be your water inlet valve. The valve has two solenoids that control either the dispenser or the ice maker. Even if your dispenser is working the ice maker solenoid may not be and vise versa. The valve can be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 500 - 1500 ohms of resistance. If that part is testing correctly then you should look into your ice maker being the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Getting water from dispenser. Not making ice. Just put brand new water filter in. When attempting to dispense ice, the motor is churning. We defrosted the fridge in case a line was frozen. Could it be the water inlet valve? What else do you think i should check?
For model number GSF26C5EXB00

Hello Paul, thank you for inquiring. For this symptom you will want to consider either the Single Primary Water Inlet Valve part PS11750831 or the Icemaker Assembly itself, part PS11751133 for your model. We hope this helps.

It appears that there is frozen ice maybe in the ice maker. I do not hear water running into the ice maker. No ice in the dispenser bucket. Water dispenser works just fine. Just replaced water filters inside and outside appliance. Not sure which part i need. And not sure where the water inlet valve is located so if that's a possibility, can you direct me to the location?

Hello Patsy, Thank you for writing. The water inlet valve is under PartSelect number PS11750831 for your model, and it is behind the refrigerator, behind the grate cover near by the water tubing and the motors for your unit. We suggest checking the valve and up the tubing where it connects to the ice maker to see any buildup of ice or frost that's causing the lack of running water. Hope this helps!

Indoor ice despenser motor won't run. Already replaced motor intself. What else could problem be? Everything else works fine, warter despenser, ice maker, ice shoot door opens, light comes on. Can hear a dull low click somewhere while pushing pad again and again like something is stuck.

Hi Dennis, Thank you for your inquiry. If the ice maker is not making there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the ice bin coupling, the seal, the coupling, the washer coupling, the auger motor and the ice maker. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

When water is ran through the lines whether water dispenser or ice occasionally it makes a horrible vibration. I am concerned that the water pump may be going out. Is this the part i need to replace or is there another pump that i should be looking at?
For model number gsf26c5exb00

Hello Mitch, thank you for your question. It sounds like you may be getting air into the water lines of your fridge. First I would suggest purging the water lines in you fridge. Here is a link that shows you how to do that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2W8jNl5PYs. If the vibration continues to happen after the air has been purged, I would recommed checking the water lines for small holes or cracks, as well as replace the filter, and check the water filter housing for any visible issues. I hope this helps!

Ice maker water wont stop running
For model number GSF26C4EXB02

Hi Jack, Thank you for the question. This sounds like the motor is stuck in the cycle to make ice. The timer is part of the ice maker motor Part Number: PS733947 or the full ice maker assembly Part Number: PS11751133. Hope this helps!

Our fridge is making a load noise like a pump running on the fridge side upper shelf by filter at times. Water and ice cube maker seems to be working fine. we do have hard water. Could this be the water inlet valve?
For model number wsf26c3exw01

Hello Charles, thank you for contacting us. A blockage in the water line or fault in the valve can make the water inlet valve, part number PS11751331, a source of the noise. We would also recommend inspecting the evaporator fan motor, part number PS557957. Customer service is available 7 days a week if you require assistance placing an order.
