Sample Model Number Tags
Model numbers can be made up of numbers (1005400, for example) or a combination of letters and numbers (LAT1000AAE). The model number will most likely appear on either a paper sticker or a metal plate. Your appliance's model number tag may look similar to the sample model number tags shown here (model number highlighted in yellow):
This radiant surface element provides the primary heat source for your electric range cooktop, transferring heat evenly to cookware for precise cooking performance. Installed beneath the glass surface, it ensures efficient heating and consistent results. If your burner fails to heat or produces uneven temperatures, replacing the element can restore proper function. Designed for durability and compatibility with multiple models, this part offers a direct fit for easy installation and reliable operation.

My Maytag range when you turn the knob on. It stays on high it wont turn down. Could this be the switch or the element. And how do i check it
For model number MET8775XS00
Hi Troy,
Thank you for your question. I would suggest testing the parts with a multi meter. For your radiant element, it should have a reading between 0 and 120 ohms. With your switch, when you remove it from your appliance and turn the switch to an on position, if you do not get any readings that means it is your switch that you would need to replace. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

The left burner of my Kitchenaid stove won't turn off even when I pressed off on the control panel. The light on the control panel did turn off but not the burner. All other burners operate normally though. Is this the problem of the control panel or the burner?
For model number YKER507XSS00
Hi Thompson,
Thank you for your question. If one of the left burners is not turning off, the issue is either the electronic control board that the controls the burners on the left side or the burner itself. Before removing and inspecting these parts, unplug the range from the electrical outlet. Inspect the electronic control board for signs of scorching, burn marks wear or damage. If it shows any of these signs, it will need to be replaced. If it is fine, you will need to check the element. Visually inspect it and the wires connected to it for any signs of damage. If there are no visible signs of damage, check it for continuity with a multimeter on the Rx1 setting. Touch each of the terminals one at a time with one probe while holding the other probe to the outside surface of the element. If either terminal show continuity, it is defective. To test the entire element for continuity, place each of the probes on the terminals, one on each. The exact reading you should receive varies between models, refer to your owner’s manual to determine what yours should be, but if any element has a reading outside of 19 to 115 ohms, it is defective. If you do not receive the correct readings from the tests above or find damage on your element, you will need a replacement surface burner element. We hope this helps!
