Dual Water Valve WPW10247599

Knowing that the only thing that could cause the water to drip and over flow from the reservoir I ordered the dual water valve and replaced it. This is the second time I had to replace this, the first time was when the ice cubes started getting thin. After out the bracket has to be removed from the old and put on the new. Then just reverse what was done to remove it and your done. I went ahead and ran a full glass of water and about thirty minutes of new ice to make sure any dirt ran through before using it.

Replaced the valve but I still have the same problem. I thought the new valve would be the trick. I can hear the valve working just as soon as I move the glass out just a little but the dripping still is there ,it is a pain as it will fill the tub if you are not thinking and friends are used a unit that stops completly as the glass is r ... Removed the back of the refrigerator. Located the valve. Turned off the water to the ice maker and cold water dispenser. Disconnected the main water line to the valve. Disconnected the valve from inside the back of the refrigerator.Disconnected lines to ice maker and cold water dispenser after marking the lines appropriately. Replaced the ... Read more valve .Reconnected the cold water and the ice maker lines to the appropriate intact tubes on the valve. Put small amount of water sealer on the intake tubes before reconnecting the tubes and the lines. Reconnected the main water line after water sealer gel applied. Turned on water to test for leaks. NO leaks. Reconnected valve to refrigerator . Had to drill new fastening hole since old holes did not match up to new holes. replaced refrigerator back .

First check your water source. The supply valve might be clogged, then the operating switches and timer to make sure they work . Remove old valve set and open them to clean the strainers of any debrie. Everything was clean for me. I purchased a new valve set and replaced it, easy enough. Apparently the plungers of the solenoid valves wear and don't open enough.

This is a very easy fix. Turn off the water and remove the line from the valve. Remove two the screws on
the bracket on the back of the unit and then remove the two screws holding the valve to the
bracket remove the two water lines from the valve.
then do everything in reverse. Turn on the water.

First I unplugged the refrigerater and turned off the water and disconnected the water line. I then removed the two screws that hold the element in place, pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Then I disconnected the two water hoses, replaced the old valve with the new one and proceeded to connect the water ... I turned off the supply water and easily removed the existing water valve, The difficulty encountered was that the mounting bracket did not match the existing mounting bracket. I was able to modify the new mounting bracket buy drilling two holes which mated with the existing mounting bracket screw holes. Then the parts went together easil ... After doing some research it appeared that the water valve was the culprit. I don't have the expertise to test the old valve but I did try adding water manually to the icemaker and it spit out the cubes so I figured the icemaker itself was ok. I removed a few screws at the back of the refrigerator that holds the valve. Pulled the old one out, removed three hoses and two electrical connections. Reconnected the same on the new valve and reinstalled it. Later that day the ice cubes started dropping again.

romoved the cover on back of Refrig. romoved the water inlet valve (water and ice maker valve) replaced the old one with new just as removed and now it is making plenty of ice.

Part was about $50 ---saved the service call and labor charge completely.

After I pull out the fridge, turn off and remove the water supply line. I removed the screws that held the water valve in place. Once I pulled the water valve out, I discounted the two internal water lines, (one for the ice cub tray and the water in the door) and then removed the two sets of wires connecting to it.
